Edit: Holy shit I can't believe I forgot Mass Effect 1-3, I have beaten each of those 5-10 times. I CANNOT get enough ME.
I really liked the ME games, but in all honesty they didn't do anything that

didn't do 18 years earlier on 2 5.25 floppy disks with 1 guy doing all the design, programming, and music by himself.

And that's my issue with most everything made in the last 5-10 years. These games BARELY are any different than the games from 15-20 years ago except they have fancier graphics and soundtracks.

Best game I ever played was strip poker with my girlfriend with special "house" rules that went way beyond losing clothing.

WoW: BC - I have a special place in my heart for this game because when it came out Austin had frozen over. Most places were closed but gamestop was open. I rode my bike an hour each way in ice covered roads to get it and played for 2 days straight because classes were canceled. I remember coming home and kids were sledding on cafeteria trays down MLK. I was like "damn, that looks fun. But I've got leveling to do." Ahhh, good times.

Diablo 2
Final fantasy 7
Zelda: Ocarina
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Marvel Vs Capcom (1-3)
Gauntlet motherfucking Legends
Armagetron (LAN)
and of course Everquest

I agree with you Tecmo's, a few developer's designed every type of game that we see now very early on. There has been very few breakthroughs in game design in 20 years.
I have an emu collection for Dreamcast, and I see all the early Japanese game developers had designed the major game play styles/views. Then everyone copied those.

I hope we get to play a Virtual Reality EQ at some point in our lives. So someone can become: Lawnmower Man!
