Hard work has very little to do with how much you make. Fresh outta school I did masonry work for $17/hr and worked 10x as hard as I do now for a fraction of the money.

Obviously its a combination, I could double my hours and probably double my business. I could see clients every weekend and after work. You have to have a good thing going worth putting more work into.

mental work can be considered hard work. im not saying hipponipple works hard, but doesnt have to be physical. I have done a lot of landscaping and construction work which was physically draining. then when i did calculus in college that shit was so mentally draining id get tired from it.

nonetheless you are still right though kergan. the country is designed to keep the rich wealthy and the poor, well poor. The more money you have the more money you can make. its a terrible system, but im not willing to think of a new system so im just going with the flow.

my girl's dad owns a small piece of property that he inherited when his dad died. he rents the property to 7-11 who gives him 4000$ a month just to rent the tiny lot of land. they also put about 20,000$ into redoing the entire lot of land for free. its on a busy street in the downtown city so its worth a lot.

another example why hard work doesnt mean shit. Hard work is something thats priceless. its character building. i've worked very hard my entire life, its done more for me than any amount of money can do i believe.

Having land in an ideal and growing area is just lucky. I have a client that is rich because her grandparents owned farm land in Plano (Dallas area) before it developed into a city. Their entire family is rich and didn't earn it.

On the other hand people that work smart and hard tend to get lucky more often than those sitting around doing nothing. Successful entrepreneurs are in the right place at the right time because they were smart enough to steer themselves in that direction.

this is true, im not completely ignorant to the outside world, but i was just talking in terms of the USA. I've lived a pampered life compared to a lot of countries out there.

this is why i have a hard time believing him about being 28 with 500k self earned dollars in the bank. I guess its possible but just really hard to believe.

I feel i have what it takes to lead a guild to victory in p99, but I'm not willing to devote even 1/10th the amount of time it requires. Props to the people who do it tho without them this place wouldnt be as fun. gotta keep it casual, yet serious.

My dad owns property all over Dallas. Rockwall/Plano/Frisco. The hard work comes in with owning property like that when you develop it just right.

Selling vacant land is one thing, developing the land for multifamily residential with retail on the first floor is another. Fighting with the city to let you build more units without the requirement of attached garages, having the property rezoned for your intended use, demographic research, appraising it before and after completion, getting the bank to agree on a loan with the right interest rate.

That's where hardwork comes into owning property. I will be passed down some of these treasures one day and I plan to continue tr legacy of my father. Hardwork isn't just working in a rice field until becoming crippled from exhaustion. It's all relative.
