Pre-Sky DA vs IB was pretty dope. Raid rules were much less restrictive, guild sizes were smaller and much more mobile, and a lot of gimmicky strategies that have been used here over the years hadn't been considered yet. As brutal as it could be, I actually made a ton of friends from both guilds during those 15 man AFK claiming days. Would have like 60 people sitting inside the PoF fire wall waiting for shit to spawn and jus BSing with each other. Also the competition seemed much closer. As fun as FE vs TMO could be, TMO destroyed us for those first few months. I got the first FE bard epic and think I had been to 30+ trak raids before we a) got the kill and b) guts dropped. We probably watched them kill 50+ VP dragons before we got that first druushk kill. IB usually beat up on DA, but even then DA was usually getting 1 or 2 mobs out of 6 weekly.

Sky was absolutely horrible though. So many players burned out up there in the first 3 months after it was released.

TR vs DA/TMO was cool too. DA/TMO had the numbers, but a lot of their good players like Daltheb and Baub had switched to TR, so it was a lot of 60-70 man DA/TMO zergs vs TR forces that were half the size, but much better geared and prepared. People always claim their competition zergs while they dont, but TR vs DA/TMO was one of the few times it was almost always true. Was cool to see that play out.

If all the other players like you, left....it would be a great server to enjoy the nostalgia factor.

The end game raiders here ruin the server, it's a selective group of people without careers or social status who have spent 6 years playing this server non stop and consider it an elite club.

Look at all the essays reminiscing about old times followed by a dissertation on rule precedent set 3 years ago. Let go, go outside

They mostly have. We're left with the dregs like yourself and that's why this forum isn't as fun.

I don't have dregs, they were culturally appropriated from other cultures.

And no, they haven't left. There were 30 BDA losers sitting in KC waiting for a FTE on VS after 5 years.

Thats just like, your opinion, man.

Also, I have mostly quit. I play casually as fuck now. The thing you and other casuals who cry about the state of the server don't realize is that the hard core population is a significant portion of this server. There is so much turn over at the top end, but always more warm bodies to fill the void. When I log on these days my /friends list returns almost nothing, because almost everyone from back in the pre-kunark and pre-veliois days has quit. A lot of us still log on from time to time and browse the forums when we're bored, but it isn't like the same group of people has been dominating this server for the past 6 years.

Keep crying about how everyone on a server of thousands of players doesn't cater to your specific idea of a nostalgic experience though. Sure that will work out for you eventually.

I'm casual because I don't want to jack off at WTOV zone out for 10 hours staring at a wall waiting for a warped spawn to show up?

You neckbeard losers have removed any nostalgia from the server by turning it into a job.
You neckbeard losers have made end game raiding absolutely boring and horrible, have any of you even seen NToV or do you just hop on Skype and wait for your PoM/Exit summon?

There's no crawl, there's no clear, there's a bunch of people without anything else who can sit for 5 hours spamming track, COTH, or Target range attack. Classic

Those downplaying the FA/Ramp battle in TOV simply don't know.

Kharizzar's epic pet FTE's. Rampage autofiring on spawn points. The switch to coth maging. Mage placement wars. FA figuring out Vulak ledge & Koi pond, and Rampage just besides themselves convinced we were cheating. The infamous repop & Gharns debacle. The worst raid suspension call ever made. The sleeper awakening. Intensifying coth maging. FA slapping Awakened so hard in coth maging that mid-cycle they switched from 2 mages per wing to 2 mages per target (openly defying the player agreement - which went completely unpunished). Taking coth mage placement to the most extreme. Lull pull wars. The change to runups for Kael. The completely moronic decision to change to run ups for TOV. Some of the most epic races you've never seen or heard of if you aren't in one of the 3 guilds mentioned. Fifield's 5 FTEs in one night, including a naked Aaryonar FTE. Mani evolving Dozekar into bard/ranger only FTE. Deep NTOV racing turning into TEAM racing instead of individuals.

Those that quit the game and now just forum quest... Either play the game, or don't. But legends are made every week. We didn't get any less hardcore. We just can't brag about it in RNF because every week we figure out a tweak to a strat that gives a hair of an advantage, and the competition is fierce enough that we will not be giving it away just to be popular in your forum questing world.

And this is why Taken wouldn't be getting anything. Its not that their average player is unable to do ToV stuff. It's not even tracking (although you guys did have issues with that for such a big guild). They just didn't have what Ramp and Forsaken/Asgard had, a bunch of players that played this game competitively for years. That's what they would have been up against. What made Asgard different than a lot of casual guilds, is they had a few people like that running the show.

Now that Taken has been raiding with old Rampage members for quite awhile, they aren't the same guild and the players have changed as well.

Honestly I could say the same thing about TMO/Forsaken/Aftermath, All their big dick play makers quit during Kunark, It's strange but when TMO's good FTE'ers quit it made the game a lot less fun for me being in IB/Rampage.
