I played a Barb War on live as my main so I'm partial to them. I was a newb to the game and simply liked the helmets and that was enough for me to roll with one. As I matured and learned more about the game I can say I never regretted my choice.

Some reasons why Barbarians are easily the best Warrior race to play:

-Being a large race allows us to slam opponents. A quick refreshing innate no mana stun ability is priceless. It helps fighting casters and also helps produce aggro.

-Can wear Medium and Large armor. Useful if you're in a guild or have a good amount of friends on the server. The vast majority of hand me downs/hand outs are going to fit you. This helped me out a ton especially as my warrior was my first character on live. Also Medium Bronze armor is much more forgiving than Large. Warriors have high strength (especially large races) but they're the worst at two things in this game, travel and making money. Banking expeditions were few and far between for me and I hated to give up even spare copper while out on the exp grind.

-Best zones. Barbarians have the best City (Halas), Newbie Zone (Everfrost), and 1st zone leaving your newbie zone (Blackburrow). All IMO of course.

-Best Faction. Have Rallos Zek as your god and you can walk into nearly every town.

-Best looks. Simple fact [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Be it leather when you're a newbie or plate later on you're going to have the best looking helmet on the block. I don't care if Half Elves look like Robocop the horn helm is still cooler.

Again being a Large race is simply going to be more advantageous to you until you hit 55. Troll regen, like someone else pointed out, is simply a drop in the bucket for a warrior with the massive HPs you're going to have and doesn't the Ogre's frontal stun immunity not work? Plus I simply don't like the look of the character models. For these reasons I like the Barbarian over the other two even though Barbarians seem to be the forgotten of the "Big 3."
If you like wearing a skirt. Sure.

Gear far outweighs any racial advantages as you move through the expansions. When you're running CH chains in Velious, it doesn't really matter who's tanking as long as they're a warrior. One of our main tanks in IV (sleeper top guild) was a gnome warrior.
This is a really good point...

Its not about how you start but its how you finish. My gnome on VZ/TZ had more hp unbuffed than people like Xantille who is a hall of famer. With a big race your stats get maxed quickly so in the end it works to your disadvantage.

which was wy halfling tanks were omoung the best in velious. far easier for a halfling warrior to max sta/str than it was for an ogre to max agi/dex

barbarian warriors always made me feel like i was William Wallace.

but William Wallace is 7 feet tall.....

Yes, I've heard. Kills men by the hundreds. And if HE were here, he'd consume the English with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his arse.

You guys are in denial. It's like listening to a guy with a small-tittied girlfriend say "All it takes is a handful." Yeah, you keep telling yourself that buddy.

If I cared about stats and such, I'd probably roll as a Troll Warrior. I tend to solo a lot, just the way I am really, and the troll regeneration would be nifty to have.

But my main Warrior has been, and always will be, a Half-Elf. ;D
