The reason we think the country is just extremely polarized and people would never do that is because the media only broadcasts the people that yell the loudest, which are the people on the far sides of the left/right spectrum. That's why sometimes people are surprised to find that the majority of Americans don't fall into that bucket.

I honestly dont think a single forum poster here has changed their stance on any of the candidates? I know I did.
If you look at my posts in 2019 they were staunchly anti trump during the election, i hated that guy I was so afraid we were all gonna die because he was talking about shooting lasers through bodies. But I definitly dont think what we replaced him with was better at all. I'm not a fan of either of them, but the replacement is categorically worse, unless you just hate trumps personality.

Like, youre trying to win an argument, by saying that I should trust you about who you know, and I should ignore what I know. That alone is just gaslighting at best. Even if you were right, it's the concept of trying to win an argument not by showing me a better result, but by convincing me that the other result is worse and anything I say that disagree's with that is because im a crazy idiot, that I would be arguing against.

Americans don't fall into one polarized bucket or the other and that's a statistical fact. Maybe you're from the deep south where people tend to be right wing and uneducated without critical thinking ability?
