GDP per capita is a quality of life measurement, not a measurement of a countries ability to be a threat - poor North Korea is still a threat to the region and China is much more wealthy. They have a 10+ trillion USD economy and an authoritarian government with a leader who just made himself president for life.

Economic espionage / IP theft, infiltrating academia to steal research, state subsidies / dumping, general espionage / information gathering (US citizens included), exporting internet control and surveillance technologies to other authoritarian countries, aggressive military operations / island building in the South China Sea, and more.

If you had any curiosity you can google and learn more. Maybe try "Uyghurs in China" to get a sense of the type of government we're dealing with.

And my point was you don't know crap about China.

Wow dude, what a super comeback *Pelosi clap*

I guess your answers to the above questions about your China expertise are all "no"

I guess your response to the aforementioned threats of China is "uhhhh piss off."

I'll leave you with a Chinese expression, young grasshoppa. Go learn what it means - but I don't recommend Google translate for Mandarin. Our conversation is now over.

班门弄斧

Nah castle is kinda right. Why not, like, consider the points he's making itt for like five seconds and interrogate them with an informed understanding of what the argument is? Taking your ball and going home is the easiest thing in the world to do. People on all sides do it, and they never learn or grow.

"He made 8 points I will ignore, but I made 1 random unrelated statement he hasn't answered yet.. Therefore, I win the debate."

You didn't make a point. You ignored the following:

And then made some random statement.

Did I miss something?

  • Would you like to go back an answer of those questions about China expertise?
  • Would you care to answer any of the points I have made in the above quote?
  • Would you like to elaborate on your "omgosh, the US made their infrastructure" as being meaningful in any way?

The current China network (recent 10+ years at least) is China Telecom and China Unicom. It's all Chinese hardware, and the Great Firewall and related internet surveillance tech is Chinese too (Fang Binxing, et all.)

Can you admit you're repeating the "China is not a threat" line bc you heard it on Western MSM and it sounded good, or do you want to keep putting your foot in your mouth, ignoring my points, avoiding my questions, then making random statements and claiming victory?

P.S. I don't know every minute detail there is to know about China and everything China-related, but I know a universe more than you, especially on what is meaningful to the topic of "the threat of China" - just stop dude, it's embarrassing

The internet control thing

You'd think a stable genius could figure that out [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Making 8 points at once is a sign of derangement, not debate.

Pretty obvious you lost this debate a while ago.

It's 1 point. China is a threat. I share multiple areas where they are a threat. Can your brain not handle that?

Tell you what - you answer these questions and I'll continue this discussion. Until then, you've been downright embarrassed. I can understand if you wanna quit now (by either more BS responses or just leaving the thread.)

I say some US companies are beholden to China. Cisco and a few US tech companies joined with Tsinghua University to help with the beginning of the Golden Shield Project. That proves my point. Are you trying to say something else? Or just making a random statement from the 5 pieces of info you heard on the TV about China to show you know something, even if it's irrelevant or proves my point?
