It just doesn't make any sense why this thing isn't required for the Cleric epic. The epic stats are barely better, and if you don't need the excess CHA, WIS, or saves, Vibrating Hammer is actually better.

2 days into kunark royals AOE'd like... once a fight. Without AOEs they're just regular Xp mobs with a boatload of hp.

they ae quite a bit, and are by no means easy.

doing king with 5 is feasible but not unless you're mostly 60 with a balls group and pimped out gear..

This. Royals aes were broken for the first week or so, this is most likely when you were killing them with 5 or 6.
