Daybreak just brought in an extremely high-powered lawyer who specializes in these IP cases. She doesn't take cases she is going to lose. Now that she's on the case, it is far less likely that DBG settles out of court. In the event they do, it's going to be heavily skewed in favor of DBG.
Blizzard invoked the RICO Act on Turtle WoW, Daybreak has gotta up its game plan

That honestly sounds a lot more convenient for everyone than stretching out a court case for months. The corporations will win most of the time, but it allows for market disruption by highly motivated small organizations.

Robert A. Heinlein had a kinda negative view of government towards the end of his life which is reflected quite well in his last five books which collectively form the World as Myth aspect of his writing. In Friday, he wrote that while governments existed, corporations were running the world. The US no longer existed and had turned into a bunch of smaller nations. He didn't specifically state it, but he suggested that the Balkanization of the larger nations had occurred because of corporations fighting amongst themselves. Smaller nations posed no threat to the corporations.

Corporate infighting was manifested via wars which to almost everyone's knowledge was between nations, but the corporate officials knew otherwise.
