What do you think of this interesting point

Most people in America grow up in "dignity culture", in which a third party (the judicial system, police) usually settles their grievances or punishes the guilty. People who live in a dignity culture are generally more tolerant to things we would normally consider "insulting behavior". This is quite the opposite in honor culture, where the person is expected to defend their own honor, and swiftly.

Generally, honor culture is much more prevalent in the Southern United States, but it can really exist anywhere. It's also not relegated to any particular ethnic group or skin color.

Indeed, honor cultures have existed all over the world at various times and still exist in our own country. Dignity cultures are a relatively recent thing, appearing in the 19th century as societies began blanketing citizens with equal rights under the law.

There have been lots of research into the difference between honor and dignity cultures over the last 30+ years and more information can be found online.

They should make a movie about an actual problem, rather than a fringe non-existent problem. They want it to go away, but they make movies about it. At least they accurately depict it as a couple dozen losers in a basement, which is what it is.
