Yeah, I think most THJ people have come to terms with it. But there's bound to be some rage posts.

Personally if we're talking online drama imagine the fallout if DBG loses and the kind of conversations that would start. That'd be super interesting.

I feel like how DBG manages EQ, is tantamount to just holding it hostage more than doing anything with it.

I think there is some crossover, with the "stop killing games" movement, or things to be said about the EMU community doing more with it than the owners do.

Emus have one job.

Don't make money. Im thinkin' it really is this simple.
Having said that, I do think employing some of the devs to make what people clearly want is clever. But as shovel (and others) has said, they appear to just be placeholdering the EQ IP to milk it with little to no input on their part until its cellular death.

i wonder if there's a counter-movement to stop killing games i can donate time or money to. otherwise, the kill more games movement starts here on this forum

Still can't stop the trend toward more active and healthy lifestyles among younger people and that spells the end of the game design, even if you could free the IP. Aerobics, Pilates, and yoga are today's "Everquest."

no, they're all mobile games instead

chinese phone games have bigger budgets and playerbases than even world of warcraft

Well, I am not sure they would be able to get it , but at the least they can get the server shut down.
