Trying to squeeze the last bit of playing P99 and working out I can, because tomorrow I go in for surgery on my displaced ulnar nerve. Displaced from playing this game of all things, but really due to a generic condition where the nerve doesn’t sit in the bone grove it should. So it probably would have happened anyway inevitably. It can only be corrected by surgery, 90% success rate, arm will be in a sling for at least 10 days, and I will have a wicked scar

All worth it, and I shouldn’t have waited. They warned me that my hand muscle would atrophy and I waited anyway. I’ll post pics of my (good) right hand, and what happens to your left hand when the nerve isn’t sending signals for it to have full range of motion

Now I’m crossing fingers that the surgery will be successful tomorrow AND that I can grow my hand muscle back. If it atrophies away completely, it is gone forever

Nah my nurse was older, really heavy, and way too sweaty for the tasks she was doing. But she had a nice personality

Dr said hand atrophy is permanent. I said nah building muscle is what I do. Dr said not when it’s gone it’s not. Then the anesthesiologist said it looks like denial is not just a river in Egypt [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I’ll show them, the muscle is not completely gone

Pic is when I was about to go in. All I got for pain is shitty Vicodin. They didn't even ask me the pain scale question. I was prepared to say 11/10. Even tho really I can’t feel shit. Typing this w my right thumb

Pras.

Good job surviving man.

You will get something back. It's gonna be hard tho. Always is when its that far gone. You're really strong anyway though. And mouse clicks don't take tons of effort.

Got to pay back my ma and stepdad today for helping me recover from surgery at their house. I’m supposed to keep my arm elevated above my heart for the next 48hrs to keep it from throbbing and swelling

But unfortunately tonight my stepdad fell 4 feet off a ledge down onto his side and broke his shoulder/collarbone and maybe a rib. Ma was 30+ miles away and he was in serious pain and could not move his arm, had a lump on his shoulder that shouldn’t be there

So I had to drive him 10 miles to the ER trying to keep my arm up. Really not supposed to be driving yet and on Vicodin too but it was np. Staff at the ER said when I was bringing him in holding my arm in the air that they thought I was the one needing help

I live a few minutes walk away from the Naturalis Museum, which is apparently one of the best nature museums in the world. They had a rock exhibit. Was giggling to myself when I saw the EQ related stones. Can you guess which is which?

Number 1: Two in this one
