I dont think its about going to war so much as its about social and economic pressure on the regime (I.E. getting more support for additional sanctions).

But let's keep in mind we have opened fire on sovereign governments for far less. I.E. Qaddafi was not guilty of any crime, and guilty of no crime against his people.

We wouldn't hit Iran until it turns into a Libyan situation. The people must revolt first, then the US would begin covert operations. There will not be a frontal assault on Iran. just arming rebels, sabotaging computer systems, stoking the fire, steering the agenda (through social media) etc much in the same vein as Egypt and other Arab Spring countries.

We've been down this road before. We know the playbook.

No way- a unified, successful, democratic Iran would be even more anti-Saudi than the current nation. The playbook for Iran would be to carve it up into smaller ethnic states to weaken any potential resistance to Israel and Saudi Arabia

I don't think an invasion or "regime change" happens though. We have generals and intelligence analysts who know Iran can mobilize literally millions of Shia devotees who will happily die for the state. In addition, some of the protesters are calling for a parliamentary democracy, some are calling for the last descendant of the Shah to be restored as monarch, but most are calling for cheaper eggs

The point is, Persians arent brain dead Arabs who say "Allahu Akbar" whilst taking up AKs to shoot up streets in a murderous orgy to topple the regime. These are protests representing discontent, not an organized revolution. The sad truth is the Iranian regime has staying power. Oh, and the second a Saudi jet flies over Iran, all of those protestors will be falling in line behind the regime, just like during the Iran-Iraq war, to defend the homeland

Disagree with you saying it can't happen. But the hurdles are huge. Iran is essentially a first-world country that has been held back by not participating in Western banking. Its very far from a hell hole like Libya despite what the West wants people to think. Its a great nation, under any regime.

It would be like saying we are going to invade Turkey to fix the problems in Turkey. The fact N3t@nyahu is pushing for war is definitely a factor. I think what this will amount to is some air strikes on nuclear sites. The Israel far right definitely wants to make use of this presidency while it still can. The Israeli far right is under heavy fire from that last election fraud. It amounted to a Vladimir Putin style election with the results predetermined. So this is their last chance to make an impact against Iran. They can't risk another election theft again or Israel will lose legitimacy. They have to get Iran done within the next 2-4 years. There is a finite amount of time for Neo-Con Trump and fascist n3t@nyahu to make this happen.

Partitioning ethnic states made sense in Iraq and we didn't partition Iraq either. So thats definitely not a possibility.
