Seems odd that there would be so many guides you can find out there about how to get to PoM if it weren't possible for anyone except a necro/cleric/bard with an extra idol. What's that DA clicky that comes with Velious, too? It has multiple charges iirc, but can't remember if it was class specific or not.

For starters - Aaryonar isn't up.

For secondary starters, that is with gear beyond era (note the Luclin models). Allowing him to take more hits.

At the end you note his DA dropped, that was pretty lucky none of the mobs hit him or worse stunned him.

PoM run is do-able for a lot of classes.

Monk/SK/Necro/Cleric are all fine at doing it with a shiny brass idol. Way harder for classes without a natural DA or FD. Luckily, you don't have to do it alone. I've got a monk and can do the run no problem with an idol. You basically just try to FD -> sneak as far as you can before you can no longer FD off mobs then pop DA idol/Voiddance. Then you rez goo whomever at the castle.

And fuck man, this is P99 - Aaryonar isn't gonna be up for more than 20 minutes a week. You can probably just piggyback your way there over here.

That is my expectation as well. NToV will be poopsocked hard enough that following along with a guild you can easily get to PoM.

I hope the BFG quest is implemented in its original early form. If so, I look forward to the forum drama from the folks who turn it in expecting a BFG and receive something of a rude shock. Folks don't seem to remember, by and large, how raw and unfinished Velious was when it first opened. The expansion only became really good after 5-6 months of tweaks.

Assuming things are implemented correctly, whoever first kills Avatar of War and receives a shiny Blade of Carnage will also be in for a shock.

If the BFG quest rewards those weapons people will just hold on to the quest items until the reward is changed to BFG. It uses the same items, just a different reward, so whatever.

And yes raid guilds know that a lot of Velious loot sucks at first like Blade of Carnage (which sucks forever).

I lead countless PuG raids in Kael doing giants during early velious. They were some of the funnest raids, everyone got great loots, and I wasn't even guilded! If I can get up to 60 and have the time, I'd love to do this again.

My server did this as well on live, however... It will be MUCH different here.

Will be interesting to see the drop rates on BPs here.

They were rare as fuck on live. Back on the Sleeper (2007ish progression server), a stupid leather tunic from Kael held us back on unlocking PoP for a bit (Beastlord Velious armor was required for the next expansion unlock).

So many hours spent killing shit in Kael for that stupid tunic just so we could go on to PoP.

To say it will be player to player exchanged may be a stretch... Let's see if TMO wants it that bad again. Can't wait to see Holgresh elder beads camp held by them for 30 straight days.

I never looked @ the camp and have been too lazy to log into another server to go check it out. Are they static spawns or are there roamers that can still drop the beads?
