I'd like to hear the server's thoughts on evaluating:

[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
if you add dx at the end. It becomes:

x^3+0.5x^2-5x .... Evaluated at 0 and 1

0+0+0-[1^+0.5(1)^2-5(1)]
-[1+.5-5]
3.5

Combine the Taylor Series expansion of the Cosine and Sine functions and take the absolute value of its sum. Which function does this Taylor Series expansion resemble? This blew my mind the first time I saw it.

You can integrate how it's written now. The only thing that is wrong with the notation is a dx on the end.
I was joking :P dx is a dummy variable

I did this problem this semester, actually. I did it a different way, though. I substituted "i Θ" in for "x" in the Taylor series for e^x and ended up with Euler's formula. e^(iΘ) = cos(Θ) + isin(Θ)

At least I think that is where you're going.

Yea, I guess it depends on what application you use all this stuff for. I've heard some terms and didn't know what they were and it turned out they were just used for business calc.

Anyway, gotta get back to studying. . . peace.

I just randomly text my 18 year old friend, sernior in HS and he got it right first try.

-30

I look at everything as basic math though, so Id be the ding bat to say 0.

As he said when he gave me the answer, "Please excuse my dear Aunt Sally"
