Consequences of merging Blue and Green ?

Rogean and Nilbog talked about server mergers and character transfers on Sirken's old podcast. And that was like 10 years ago, so I think they have the means to do it. Then again they were also talking very seriously about a new red server (sorry) for most of the show, so make of that what you will.

I haven't seen that as an issue on either server for quite awhile now. When has an EXP group ever inspected a person's gear lol

Thats the point. On a populous server people get much more fussy about who to let in to a group. These days grouping is much more laissez faire and people aren’t bothered if you’re playing a wizard or a melee in rags. They’re just happy to have fellow players to bang with.

because there are 8 character slots hardcoded into the game.
where will the extra 8 go? :-)

Let's be honest, they've had, what, 4? 5? years at this point to make it happen.

Imagine all the times the GMs walked around flaunting their mod powers instead of working on code or doing reimbursement requests [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Face reality, If it was gonna happen, it would've happened.
They have zero interest in doing anything other than flaunting their "status".
If someone replaced them with AI, it'd be a noticeable change because things would run smoothly.

You could scroll past the 8th slot using up and down on live server before they added silver/gold/platinum. Was handy for the live server merges.

So for some clients we can see it wasn’t a hardcoded restriction.
