Assuming you have children, or plan to have children, would you offer to pay for higher education?

This whole "lol this guy probably didn't go to college" is kind of 1970s thing to say. Back when people would go to college and graduate based on how smart they were. As opposed to how well off their parents are.

Not to mention some of the kids doing the best you will see are the ones that didn't go to college these days...especially not at 18...that shit is pretty hard for average 18 year old. 16 credits divided into 4 classes, social clubs, and an internship? Who the fuck is ready for that at 18?

See back when it was no internship and 12 credits on the semester system....undergraduate work was easy. So the professors could be a hard ass about your test or paper and actually teach things.

Now they are forced to water it down (basically no one is rewarded for grading hard). So an entire generation of kids don't really experience a college classroom in the same sense anymore.

The bureaucrats have taken over and the intellectuals are being pushed out and replaced. Soon college will be extended high school...fuck that...it is extended high school right now.

It's a fucking joke. Getting a B in a modern college class means you showed up. A C+ means you mostly showed up. A means you actually did what they asked. And A+ is like "holy shit -- you must be a throwback to when kids cared about grades"

Oh yea grades don't matter. Unless your an idiot and need to pad your obvious idiocy with an advanced degree (as always, science degrees are the exception). It's pretty retarded to go to law school or get some business/liberal arts masters degree. You could have just made a lot more money spending the time working -- and if you have what it takes you'll be getting your masters paid for by your work -- or they won't care (usually the later).

They are training people to be busybody idiots spitting out pointless paperwork at college. They don't care about depth of understand or seeking the truth. They encourage your ability to produce. Write a paper -- keep it simple. Read a chapter of this completely different subject "what did he say?" Be prepared to discuss the topic on tuesday

no one but me was ever fucking prepared on tuesday. Didn't matter. They all got around the same grade usually. I'm like 1 standard deviation away from those that didn't try.

They studied this a awhile back by the way -- poor kids spend way more time on their school work, way less time in internships and clubs....almost immediately top business declared grades unimportant, and clubs and internships king.

The rich people colleges were the first and most aggressive at inflating grades. The upper classes are quite clearly covering their ass by watering down the meritocracy part of the university.

it's actually pretty ez to make it and u get a stable fief for it. your peers have been completely destroyed by alcohol, marijuana, social media which doesnt include my wisdom, and dietary missteps because they and their progenitors are inherently inferior. the system works good and the path is clear if u don't leap headlong into any obvious spike traps like marriage / drugs /etc

news flash this is the era of disposable goods. if U buy a bed now planning to have it 10 years from now u have zero idea about the fantastic delicious stuff going down w/ materials / manufacturing / engineering and dont plan on moving into a bigger income bracket / house either. anyway for the busted losers I predict these $300 jobs will be just fine for 5 years min; the tech has gotten a LOT better just lately.
