I might actually be able to go along with laws against "hate speech" if they could precisely define what it is first, but they never do. Twitter has banned people for simply discussing whether giving young children hormone blockers is ethical or medically sound, citing it as "hateful content" and\or "hate speech".

I'd probably ultimately oppose any such law, because terrible people have a right to say their terrible things in this country and frankly I want them to so that I know who they are so I can avoid them. Trying to be charitable to the concept at least though.

It's pretty much perfectly in line with the current far left utopian delusion that they alone can fix all of society by banning everything they don't like.

Yeah I should restate that, I was attempting to give the concept some credit, but I'm pretty purist about the 1st amendment. The only speech that should be illegal (threats of violence etc..), is already illegal, and it should stay that way.

Legally threats of violence are considered assault.
Not to be confused with battery which involves violent contact between two persons.

Friendly reminder Zuckerbergs first appearance in front of congress was3 days of him repeatedly pleading that facebook not be expected to or required to moderate its platform because if it were it would inevitably show bias but society demanded it anyway so he obliged then the left says they commit election fraud using apps and quizzes and the right says he silences them when they post about child sex rings and here we are trying to use the goverment to moderate their business again after using it to tell em how to run it in the first place and then blaming him for it being as shitty as he said it would be.
