I guess the Bernie voters I and got thrown out of the window.

Bernie is playing the "Trump is Racist" card but he never elaborates. He just kind of shrugs and goes like "well -- people get racist when their broke. Then jackasses like Trump come along." This might be a mistake. Its all Marxist party line and all -- but the reality of the situation is we need racist red necks to be socialist too. Just like the FDR good ol days.

Bernie should realize that the worst thing he could do for his candidacy at this point is starting to look too clever and too involved with the Washington elite and their mantra. Just stay away from that shit -- your not racist and everyone knows it whose opinion is worth a damn. You don't need to go around proving how not racist you are.

As long as they trade oil in US dollars, it's all gravy.

Lots of headlines about Dems "Selling out" on Dreamers. False narrative...Dems just woke up and smelled the coffee on immigration and decided it wasn't that fucking important.

A bit of Pro Trump propaganda on USA Today caught my eye:

Quote:
Trade predators destroy U.S. jobs

For too long, America has been led by a naive embrace of free trade that overlooks the predatory behavior of our trade competitors. Widespread trade cheating and poorly designed trade deals have led to persistent U.S. trade deficits causing job losses, manufacturing decline and income stagnation.

Many nations push their currency values lower, and the dollar higher, to gain a price advantage in global market at our expense. Their governments subsidize manufacturing in order to “dump” product in the U.S. market at below cost. These predatory practices violate world trade law and destroy American industries. Thankfully, President Trump appears willing to confront such abuses by punishing trade violators and renegotiating job-killing trade agreements.
But here is where it gets interesting:

Quote:
Too many of our leaders have simply overlooked a world increasingly dominated by strategic competitors. China has built up massive manufacturing capability through strategic government subsidies, currency manipulation and import controls that advantage its government-owned companies...

America’s national interest is to restore jobs and economic growth by reducing our trade deficit. Trump is finally changing America’s course by recognizing that the free-trade myth can no longer drive our economic policy.
Libertarianism is falling out of favor even by Trumpsters. This is most likely because it doesn't work and is to blame for much of America's decline over the last 30-40 years.

Libertarian economic prescriptions have been an utter failure -- that do nothing but destabilize countries and create tiny pockets of rich people.

Centralized state planning is an unfortunate necessity.
