My last post form before my 10month hiatus was 2/28/14.... so I was excited for warrens in FEBRUARY at the lastest, if not JANUARY, because that's when I created Manapocalypse, my Erudite Mage and was devastated to remember Warrens wasn't implemented until post velious launch. MY favorite thing about Velious coming out is people forgetting that it will be out until the server ends because there is currently no more planned content.

It is literally the perfect environment for a casual.

"perfect environment for a casual", not too sure about that. My idea of a "casual player" is someone that probably solo's more than groups, because they do not have the time to spend in a group for hours at a time. Sure they will group if they can but mostly solo.

I am afraid that a LOT of classes on P1999 are really not cut out to solo much of anything in Velious that they will get XP on. You will be lucky to kill light blues. And then even if you can you will either be oom or out of HP. Either way you are going to have to sit on your butt for 8 minutes to get either back. Hardly a LOT of fun for a casual. And a lot of zones in Velious are sort of like the Karanas. Large zones with not a lot of mobs concentrated in them. A Tracking character will be a big help.

I play in Velious probably 3 times a week on other servers and played in it when it came out on a Ranger, Ghetto Gated a lot. [You must be logged in to view images. And a lot of the zones are a million miles long if you have to run back to your corpse, which by the way, you will do a lot lol.

I am not saying Velious sucks it is just Hard Mode compared to now and I think it will be a bit frustrating to new and casual players. But nobody is going to turn down the expansion coming out on here. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Yes, it does. "Casual" is a state of mind, not indicative of time spent.
I do believe though in this case the term casual was specifically intended to differentiate between an every day player no matter how many hours they play and a Guild involved Raider. It's in reference to what gear is attainable Solo/6 man group or in Raids.[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Druids:
  • Epic goes from one of the hardest to one of the easiest with Triggerable VS every day with 2 stones and Triggerable Faydedar 3/4 months into Velious
  • Snare+Root stacks 1 month into Velious
  • New 60 and 55 heals 2 months into Velious
  • Track Cap moved from 50->125, 3 months into Velious
  • Forage will guarantee you foraging a food or drink 4 months into Velious IF you are hungry/thirsty.
  • Egress castable indoors, Wind Ports castable from any zone occurs 6 months into Velious
  • Druid quest BP has clicky Group Regrowth, never having to spend 600 mana again to get your group regen is huge
  • Druid quest gloves has clicky level 49 DS. Perfect for PLing also useful for mana free DMG.
  • Druids get two new Fire debuff lines that reduce AC, ATK and FR
  • Druids get an indoor castable stun to interupt inside casters
  • Druids get a bear pet which is useful as extra mana pool (with reclaim energy clicky) or per pulling)
  • Cobalt Scar provides high level Quadding location for lazy druid play.
  • Western Wastes provides fun area for charm kiting at high levels that used to be limited to dungeons.
  • Sirens Grotto provides area for baller druids to duo/trio. Really gutsy druids may solo here... Very lucky or gear dependant to solo though.
No mention of PotG?

I would agree with the sentiment that it's not necessarily time dependent in this context. The majority of 'guild involved raiders' don't play much of the game. They only park>login>kill>park>logoff.

Casuals play more than the hard core raiders, yet still too much time spent is not casual either.
