I pay $15 a month for insurance for my cat its auto deducted and I never even notice it. I think $15-$25 is the average for pet insurance and I think its silly not to get. Just make sure you do research before you get it a lot of scam companies out there apparently.

Ask your vet for a recommendation.

When people stop humanizing animals, vets and animal hospitals will lower their rates. I had 3 cats, all got sick. I loved them dearly, but knew the best solution was to put them down. And why pay a doctor to do the deed? He'll only charge you for doing something we should all have the courage and decency to do.

The best way to put a cat down is to find a nice hidden area in your house and make a bed for it. Cats like to be alone when they die as it is comforting for them when they will themselves to die. Eventually your cat will die in her sleep, painless and within the house she loved.

Or for the quick and easy path, albeit, less humane, the back of a shovel or a .22 are good options too.

Good advice I did that with my grandma.

I would not use a .22, if I was going to use any thing on my cat it would be buckshot, close range to the head. Instant and no pain. And, it would be in the woods. I love my animals, but I am also an avid hunter. I do feel bad for people who have animals they love, like I do, and they fall ill.

Please don't misunderstand me.

Edit: Obviously I would give a ceremony for my pets too. They deserve my love and to see my tears of love.

You're both assholes, you use helium and nitrogen, make an enclosure they get used to, sealed but vented slightly, and then you can put them to sleep.

its effective and if you get the gas mixture right they wont have an anoxic fit and cause u distress (they are not conscious at this point).

this works for humans too, and is a good laymens method for killing something you love in the absence of firearms.

I prefer not to destroy the brainstem as natural death includes brain death, your way is violent u might as well use an axe if you really cared to use a weapon.

Could use an axe too. I used to use that on the chickens from my coop that I slaughtered. Mez the chicken while it lay on a block of wood and WHACK!

WEEEEE watch it run around. hehe, funny stuff.

EDIT: Last post for me. Going too off topic here.

Sorry about your cat though.

I do this with my feeder mice for my snakes. I put them in a cooler and then place a chunk of dry ice in a plastic kritter keeper and seal it up. wait 15 minutes then you got some dead mice you can freeze.

I don't think you should own an animal if you aren't willing to plug it in the back of the head when it get too sick or too old.
