Poor form to fall back on the argument that streaming/uploading brings in new players to the server. Recording gameplay is not on par with running a server/answering petitions of those new players that found the server through yt/twitch channels, both of which probably only account for a fraction of the population.

Uploading/streaming gets you free gear, tells for groups, etc. And maybe the occasional stalker, but mostly the best of what the community has to offer.

Maintaining the server gets you petitions, tinfoil, dead hamsters, rule lawyers, etc. And maybe the occasional bj, but mostly the worst of what the community has to offer.

If you upload/stream and you're attracting RnF than you're doing it wrong. Yeah it's views but it's not really helping to promote the server, if anything, quite the opposite.

Plus there are knowledgeable viewers that will field questions about any given game, often before the streamer does. But throwing the p99 promoter card in the staff's faces just seems very Joel "I bring crowds guaranteed" Bauer. /shrug
