Do you know what the word confiscation means?

They are not confiscating 500€ bills.

That is why I said 'effectively', you nut. The are effectively confiscating them by not printing more; eventually the ones in circulation will wear out and be exchanged for multiple 100E notes.

You "effectively" do not know what confiscation means.

It's ok.

Just because I'm nice, when things get "confiscated", that means they are being seized without any compensation being offered in exchange.

Confiscating 500€ bills would come down to declaring them all property of the party confiscating them, for free.

This is absolutely not what has happened.

If you give me a 500€ bill and i give you 5 x 100€, i'm confiscating your money

Got it.

On a side note, xenophobic accidents daily in the UK: http://m.huffpost.com/uk/entry/uk_57...075?edition=uk (beware, feminazi website ahead, they probably tagged the polish cultural center themselves)

Pretty fortunate the poll wasn't "are you ok with your money being confiscated"

Poor Raev would be all out [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Combined with the adverb 'effectively' I feel comfortable with that sentence.

In any event, you are once again failing to raise even the smallest substantiative point. Do you really want to go all Alarti-style?

Webster's definition says nothing about compensation <shrug>

edit: Seriously, how can you not read that sentence as a textbook example of Webster's definition? The 500 E notes are effectively being taken away from the populace due to government regulations.

I wonder if there is a word for 'desperately trying to nitpick where no errors exist'. That would describe you perfectly.
