To this day she claims having the kid changed her life. When she was my co-worker she was one of my biggest nags against my argument that I’m too narcissistic to be a good parent. She says having a kid changes something in your brain, and you feel a strong paternal bond immediately. Now I don’t believe this is true for everyone but for her it was. She claims that having that kid and being a single parent actually SAVED her life, because it caused her to stop doing the drugs (having the kid was her rock bottom moment), and clean herself up, get her master’s degree, etc

I don't have kids of my own, but I do have a niece and nephew who I have a great relationship with and I can honestly say the way I thought about abortion changed drastically after that. I still support it under certain circumstances, but just the thought of the dismembered body of baby being thrown in the trash became so galling to me (in the case of mid-late term abortions), and seeing how much my brother changed, who is still a leftie but also the best father I've ever seen, and who I had never seen cry actual tears of joy ever in my life.. so it really can re-orient something in your brain, even if they aren't your kids!
I still think legit rape victims, first trimesters and legit threats to the life of the mother are okay, so don't hyperventilate, horza.
