I'd make a change to the spell Rabies.

Something like this:

1 : Increase Disease Counter by 1
2 : Decrease HP when cast by 5
3 : Illusion: Zombie
4 : Decrease Hitpoints by 1 per tick
5 : Add Proc: Rabies


So, anyone hit with rabies will get turned in to a zombie. And on top of that, while they are a rabid zombie they will also gain the ability to proc rabies on their own target!

Slowly, but surely, the entire server would succumb to the zombie plague.

To be honest, I haven't thought it through any further than this.

Something involving tradeskills. One of the best parts of Luclin and eventually PoP is that tradeskills actually became a useful thing to do other than grinding so you can complete shawl/ring/Garzicor. I had a GM smith back in live and thought Protection of the Cabbage quest was one of the cooler additions to the game (for me personally).

In terms of an event, perhaps it's something similar to PotC- gather a bunch of items made by gm-level tradeskillers that have to be turned in to a series of temporary-spawning NPCs in hard-to-get-to locations.
