I heard Hollywood wanted to go on strike too.. which would push me into a militia, because they basically took the last 2 years off.

Ehh wouldn’t effect me. Not impressed by any of their latest stuff. Breaking Bad and GOT were the last tv shows I watched, and Avengers: Infinity war/Endgame was the last movie I watched

I’m pretty satisfied with my memories of the 80’s-90’s-2000’s Hollywood when they were in their prime

Unions in this country, unfortunately, are organized at the firm level. So you can't get better pay for workers in your profession without making your firm less competitive.

This is why its a lot better system to have nationalized unions that have representation for all the workers of a given profession. So rather than making Amazon or whatever pay more to their workers -- you secure better conditions and pay for everyone working in a warehouse.

This helps more people while also not giving a competitive advantage to non-unionized firms. It also helps make the process less personal, more national and smooth. The peak organizations can agree not to fuck with things now that we are in a shipping crunch. But in this country -- that is stupid. You are only going to get concessions from the employer when they are desperate for your work.
