WinEQ2 and Patching

I just started playing on the teal server after a long break and I've been having some issues with my game freezing and the screen turning black. This doesn't happen all that often, but after reading here on the forums, WinEQ2 could possibly be my solution.

However, when I launch WinEQ2, it automatically tries to update my Everquest files to the live version I assume. Is there anyway to get WinEQ2 to not patch my p99 files when I launch the client?

Do I have WinEQ2 pointing to the wrong file location? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
