Default Everquest - Windows Application Error

The instruction at 0x10000f0ce referenced memory at 0xfffffffc. The memory could not be read.

Click on OK to terminate the program

So I receive this error when I try to load the game through my shortcut, game doesn't even load, it flickers black and this error pops up. Installed everything to the T.

Specs:
Intel Dual Core
Windows 7 64 bit

Is this not compatible with my system? I am suspecting it maybe a dual core or 64 bit issue.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Disregard..

Search is such a powerful feature (if you put alot more time in it)

I ran the game in a lower resolution and it loaded perfectly fine.

shortcut > properties > load game in 640 mode.

Wierd,

Just came across this after I forgot to plug in the power cord, so the laptop went into hibernate with EQ running. When I came back I had this error and it still occured after restarting. Fix works as described, in Win 7:

right click shortcut -> Compatibility -> Run in 640x480 window

Which quick changes your desktop resolution down for the server select screen but then the game is fine at full res at character select and ingame.
