[New] Microsoft Surface 3 Tablet
My original intent was to necro (pun!) an old thread I came across, sadly it was locked.
Microsoft recently announced these tablets: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Surf.../dp/B00VGNZ4PG Was thinking about getting one for the wife, and was wondering whether or not it would play p99. I kind of assumed as long as its a Windows 8 machine it would work, but reading through previous threads lead me to believe that I am incorrect. Anyone care to share some of their spare knowledge? | ||

I cant say for sure but from reading the specs i don't see why it wouldn't play p99 since it can run desktop applications .

Its needs to be Pro version and not RT version. Not sure if Surface 3 even has RT version but probably not so you should be fine.

I think you'll run into issues with anything that does scaling on a super high-res screen
I know on a rMBP I needed to set the resolution super low to make it work, and it would look like absolute shit

Surface Pro 3 user here: I5 128gig. Works perfectly fine. I Plug into a 24in monitor, or play it stand along with the type pad. Should be good to go.

Does the Pro 2 and 3 both do 2x UI scaling in windows?
How does that work out in EQ? I wasn't ever able to get EQ to do 2x scaling or anything like it - do you guys just put the tablets in width/2 x height/2 resolution to play?

Thanks, folks, I really appreciate the responses. It was the whole "RT" thing that threw me off. Been so busy that I've missed a lot of the details in computer development over the past three (heck...five?) or so years.
