Also I'm sure there are several great guides for earning plat on the wiki, and I'd recommend them for anyone looking to have a path laid out for them. My "guides" are really more lists of ideas of places to get plat/xp for people who want to make their own path.

I and the community appreciate your guide but this thread was more for stories of how people actually did it.

The main sources of platinum I had when i played came from:

1. Farming Seafury Cyclops for about 1.5 hrs a day, or more.

2. Amassing starter-investor platinum of about 100,000

3. Flipping high-ticket, high-demand items for plat. Not a ton, but doing a lot of transactions. An example would be ALWAYS having the plat capital available to buy something thats priced low in EC. Don't ever spend the last of your plat, consider 100k is your new 0.

Started with monk from scratch a bit more than 2 years ago, HQ brute hides while lvling helped buying SCHW at lvl40 then hill giants at 45+ to get pantherskin. Raised around 150k farming Droga SS and Chief/BG camps before CoS nerf at lvl50+ after getting epic and bought my 1st fungi tunic.

Then i rolled an enchanter and became a millionnaire lol.

Leveling my necro 49-53 exclusively on seafury island

Leveling my wizzy 51-54 exclusively off WL fairies (and then selling all the gems and porting people while my brain melted away in EC)

After amassing a small fortune, I blew it all on gearing my alts I rarely play.
