Keyboard not working

Hey,
My keyboard works fine, my fathers however does not.
I just went through over the phone helping my dad install the game.
He can log in, make a character (cannot type in name has to hit random) then enter the world but cannot move or type anything.
He is running it on 64-bit vista but I have him running the game as an administrator and in XP sp2 compatibility.
Anyone have any idea as to why his keyboard is not working in game?
He is using a laptop with an Nvidia graphics card.
I tried to look this up but cannot find anything in the forums about it.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Shot in the dark here. Have him try pressing and holding the Shift, the Control, or the Alt keys and THEN try to move in game. Does it let him then?
