Kazon Stormhammer giving insufficient faction hits
After killing 351 assorted mobs in mistmoore and not getting out of KOS with ring of scale...

I followed everything you said up until the point where you began trying to justify that the hits should be larger on P99. The 7 kills estimate is also from 2002. That's just two different people reporting two uncertain values within mere days from each other, one of whom even specifies the uncertainty. That doesn't indicate a change. You didn't post anything that supports that. In fact, most of the posts before 2002 were speculation over whether or not he could be killed, and if possible, whether RoS was one of his positive hits, to which no one answered until the release of Luclin.
This leads me to the conclusion that not only is there no reason to believe the hits should be larger, but also if you're able to farm him so easily during the Kunark era, that both he and his guards likely need beefed up. | ||

You're misreading what i'm saying. First, it was an extremely commonly known way to raise RoS faction back in kunark / velious. It took around an hour to get back to non KOS for scouting after a VP raid on live, which matches up perfectly with the comments on alla.
I read those two comments as going 15 kills from KOS to ally and 7 kills from indiff or starting faction to max, which line up perfectly with each other and reality. In 2004/5 is when the comments come in about the hits not being as good anymore. In either case, 11 kills after 351 MM faction hits should get someone un-KOS. And why does he need to be beefed up if a 53 shaman and 51 monk could kill him in 2002? That's just you making shit up without being there to witness the combat. He was doing plenty of damage to the 3 60s who were killing him. He's a level 50 mob on a 6 minute spawn timer doing solid damage. We just had a 60 cleric, shaman and rogue in best in slot gear, of course we were killing him fast. ^This is clear...king should give 200 points of faction....after 11 faction hits of 200...2200 faction+ 350 or so from MM...that gives 2550 faction.....by multiple sources of faction (http://samanna.net/gen.info/faction.shtml) the max amount of faction it should take to get from max kos to dubious is 2300 faction. Therefore it is reasonable to believe that by the above numbers the king is giving the post Velious faction hit rather than the classic. | ||

From "can't get any worse" to "can't get any better" is a span of 4000 points. 2000 above base, 2000 below. You have to be careful when interpreting the words used in posts like that, and the people who posted them may not have been aware of the subtle differences. Some people may post "max kos" while never having had a negative faction hit with a dragon, in which case they could be kos, but not at max negative faction.
The two posts, which are about a month apart, look to me like two separate parts of the same story. Someone who had never killed a dragon killing him 6 or 7 times, would have had to kill him 12 to 13 times if they had started from max negative faction, that is consistent with itself by the way the numbers divide out unevenly. | ||
