Mage Vs Necro - Feats!
Hi friends.
I’m playing on green. I have a lvl 35 necromancer and a lvl 30 magician. I’d like to ask the more knowledgeable player base for thoughts on specific camps / mobs / “feats” that either class could accomplish that the other could not. I’m trying to decide whether or not to continue playing my mage, go back to my necromancer, or fall back in with what I know ( enchanter ). I know enchanter is miles ahead of the other two, so I’m not really interested in what it could do. But I’d like to know the difference in what I might experience between necro / mage. Thanks for any input

A necro has damage over time spells. A mage has nukes.

I think it’s fairly safe to say there isn’t really any camp a mage can do that a necromancer can’t, but there are camps a necro can do that a mage can’t. Necro can break camps, they have feign death, root, mezz etc.
If you’re basing your decision off camps and feats, go necromancer.

Hold 400 pounds in inventory and still run at normal speed.

Necro > Magician in every way as far as solo capability.

Yea a mage is great but much more specific; even with a bag of root nets and expendibles they have a significantly smaller toolbox. The only downfall of leveling a necro now on green is the bummer of Kunark. Not a dealbreaker but iksar regen is a nice boon for the class (if you like the iksar look).

The only thing a mage might be able to solo that a necro can't is a mob that summons that is killed by chain summoning pets. Beyond that a necro is more capable in every way that matters.

Any specific camps that a necro can do which a mage can’t ? I guess I’m more familiar with items, less familiar with where they come from - so curious to know what I could do as a necro that can’t as a mage
