Default Why no LD recovery?

Why does the server force a complete Link Dead process if your internet drops for a fraction of a second? I don't think I have ever noticed my latency bar dip below 99% and stay connected at all.

Has anyone else experienced this differently?

I've had a few instances where my router poops out on me for a few seconds (1-15 seconds) and then when it came back up my connection to eq recovered. The thing is usually if this happens my client desynchs with the zone and I have to relog to character select screen to fix it.

I have also had brief periods of lag where my bar went to 85-95% then came back and everything worked fine.

I have a wired connection to my router currently. I made this post because of a 3 second disconnection in droga made me hit 59 again >.>
