Leveling defense with rune/skin

Is it possible to get defense skill ups from high green/blue mobs while constantly having rune on to absorb damage? I’ve been trying this for hours and even with 175 agility it’s not moving up.

So - yes, if it wears off the rune at the same time anyway...

Pretty sure an xp viable mob has to hit YOU, not a rune, for a chance at Defense skillups. This chance is slightly raised by DEX or AGI, whichever has the highest number.

Would necro Harmshield interact the same way? I believe I have read information/posts in the past that necros can agro a bunch of mobs harmshield and let them get whacked on for 18 seconds for skill ups.

I doubt that it would work, but I have never tried it. Probably best to just taptank, as a necro.

Yeah shouldn't be hard at all to keep defense up on a necro unless you only fear kite
