Default Windowed/Fullscreen mode issue...

Hello!

So basically when I am running the game in fullscreen mode and want to alt-tab to my desktop, it turns into windowed mode and the only way to fix it is to alt-enter the game window.

I recently updated my old PC to Windows 10 from XP where this never happened.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!!

Honestly, if that's your only issue I would count your blessings...

For real though - as a guess I would suspect a resolution issue. Mostly something focused around how XP defaults to a 4:3 ratio, whereas 10+ would do a 16:9 or a 16:10 or something stupid microsoft thought would be brilliant, but was badly executed and then copied by apple a decade later successfully.

That's a long winded way of saying that I would suggest changing your [windowedmode] resolutions in eqclient.ini to something with a different ratio. I play on a 4k screen in a 1920/1440 window most of the time without issues. When I fullscreen, I go to 1366/768 because somehow that works on this particular monitor - it's different on every screen I play on. Try different settings and you will find one that best suits you. Remember, it's an old game so if you're playing vanilla (except if using dgvoodoo2) stick with a ratio it was designed around - 4:3.

This is a finicky process; hence my comment about counting your blessings.

Good luck!
