Wizard epic quest help - Note to Arantir

So... I think I have made an unfortunate mistake with my Wizard epic quest. I seem to have destroyed the "Note to Arantir", the item you hand into the undercover wizard in Halas to spawn Arantir, the mob that you do the final turn-in with.

With this destroyed, I seem to have 4 options:

1. Spawn Arantir by using the Ro's Breath potion method used earlier in the quest and hand him the three staffs. I am doubtful that this version of Arantir won't just eat the whole epic because he's not the right "version" of NPC. I would need confirmation from someone else that this NPC definitely accepts the items.
2. Re-do the Plane of Fear mob fight to get another Note to Arantir. Doable, but a PITA.
3. Piggyback off someone else who is doing their final turn-in; turn my staffs in after they spawn the final form of Arantir. I am unsure whether Arantir despawns after he gives out an epic.
4. Petition for a GM to restore the destroyed Note to Arantir. Unless something has changed recently with how petitions are processed, I wouldn't ever expect to get my item back this way.

So my questions for y'all are (A) does anyone know for certain that the earlier version of Arantir can accept the staffs and give out the epic, or (B) whether Arantir despawns after giving out an epic?

Of the four options, I would either do the Broken Golem fight or petition for the note. If you otherwise have the pieces for the final hand-in I would likely just do another PoF adventure with friends.

I put in a petition. If I get stuck in the reimbursement queue, it looks like I'll have to redo PoF unless someone knows about whether Arantir depops after final hand-in or whether the earlier Arantir version accepts the final epic pieces.

Anyone completing their Wizard epic very soon? I'd love to tag along and try my hand-in after yours if Arantir doesn't depop immediately.

I can't remember if arantir depops right away but I think he doesn't. I was too busy not getting murdered as I was KOS there.

Did you complete the Gabstik staff prior to Velious release? I did that and also thought I destroyed the note. You'll have to do the broken golem over or piggybank someone else's turn in. Also don't try turning into the wrong version of Arantir with the potion, it doesn't work.

No, I did it a few weeks ago. Good to know about the earlier version of Arantir, thank you.

Still hoping to find someone else completing their epic soon (on blue server) so I can piggyback off them.

Petitions are about an 8 month wait for reimbursement RN so might as well just delete that petition, no point adding to the que as you'll have your epic well before you get a response.

I believe I have heard of other wizards doing the piggyback so I would keep an eye on the zone and see if you can catch/communicate with someone that goes to turn in theirs.

While doing that look for opportunities to get another broken golem so you can do it yourself, its not terribly hard to get one.

Piggyback works fine, the final version of Arantir stays up for about five minutes, I've seen three done at once, I'm sure others have done more. Another BG kill is the fasest way for sure if you can't find anyone, you can even corpse bank the extra gabstik staff to use for MR.
