Only certain DOTs stack. I played live just past the expansion that included "instances". It is how how it always has been, with the exception of root not removing epic DOT.

You can stack insect DOT line with Fire line.
You cannot stack insect with insect.

The only exception is

Drones of Doom (from druid arms) stacks with Winged death, therefore you can currently have 3 dots on a mob if you do not have epic.

When you have epic you can have
(1) Breath of Ro (level 52)
(2) Winged death (level 53)
(3) Drones of doom (druid arms)
(4) Wrath of nature (druid epic) on a moving mob, the problem is while its snared with epic you get the epic and the DOT damage is reduced because its moving. You root it to get the full effect of the DOTs, you lose the epic DOT because epic dot has a snare component that still does not stack with root. (that gets changed in Luclin i believe). Until it does Knix's epic is used for stats, and an occasional Jugg raid. /sigh so much effort for minimal pay off.

Also on raids druid A's DOTs do not stack with Druid B. Each mob can only have one type of druid DOT on it.

You can not stack a mob, you can only hand 1 at a time (you risk losing everything if you hand stacks)

I think your wrong, I can stack 4 mobs on a dot and still get everything i want. With the only exception being: I don't know if you are poking fun at a grammatical error that i made or if you are just making an attempt to be entertaining [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

If you are referring to two people casting the same dot and both landing, it was post-Luclin.

** Spell Stacking Changes **

We've made two changes to the way spells stack.

Damage Over Time (DoT) spells are spells that linger on the target
doing damage. Until today two different characters could not have the
same DoT spell on the same target. As long as one copy of the spell was
active any new version of the spell would not take hold. After today
the same DoT spell cast by different casters can affect the same target
at the same time. Also, if you cast a DoT spell on a target and you
already have that spell active on it, the spell will refresh. (Note: It
will not be possible to stack Lifeburn).

This does not allow for inferior spells to stack along with superior
spells. (Example: Two Necromancers can both land Boil Blood on the same
target. However, Heat Blood, being an inferior spell, will still not
stack.)

Several DoT spells that have debuff components such as Tuyen's Chant of
Frost and Breath of Ro will not stack due to the balance issues of
having several hundred points of Resistance debuffs on a single NPC.

Can we do the 4 dots listed above with epic on P1999? I always thought only 1 insects and 1 fire were permitted.
