Default Will Phinny's mage/wiz staves and bard backbone also be deleted at Kunark launch?

Did these items drop already in Classic? I haven't even bothered to look.

If these items were added later, I would like to advise people to be mentally prepared for these items to disappear from characters and banks at the point in the timeline when they were added (presumably when Kunark opens).

Thoughts?

I know the Mage staves and Wiz staff dropped prior to Kunark/Epics. The backbone is just a quest item so I assume it was added along with the Epic quest.

Checking their item id on Magelo/Lucy should shed some light. The numbers are mostly sequential to when they were added to the game.

Why is that? I'm trying to warn people they might lose their pre-farmed Kunark epic items from Phinigel. Especially the Kedge Backbone, as there was no reason for it to exist before the bard epic existed. Did you see the post by the guy who was wearing a bunch of Sol Ro gear and is now disappointed that it was all zapped? Warning people not to spend DKP or socking time on Phinny backbones seems like a Tala thing to do. No?

Or is it because I'm no longer the naive noob I once was? Don't worry, the noob is alive...inside.

I don't think kedge backbone dropped in classic. It's highly likely it will poof. The wiz staff was in before kunark and likely won't be touched.

I think it's more classic for them to delete all mage epic items prior to epic quest era on kunark. It's the only way to be sure.

September 2000, Kunark Epic Quests are added. B T W

December 2000 is velious launch.

Mage and Wiz staves are classic, they were added when Kedge was itemized, which was pre-Kunark. Backbone's might poof though yeah.

People knew the SolRo items could be deleted, anyone with a shred of sense would assume this. That guy in RnF just likes to drama, how could he not know those items could be deleted?

Thanks for the PSA but on this I think we're okay [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

1-3 total items, randomly chosen from a pool of Rods of Malisement, Wands of Mana Sieving, Robes of the Kedge, Staves of Elemental Mastery: Water and Tridents of the Seven Seas. Trident seems to be the rarest loot. All the items are lore, no drop
From a February 2000 post on Alla's. Earliest reference to the Blue Crystal Staff is in December 2000 with an inquiring mind wanting to know about a backbone in January 2001.

Sounds about right to me... lol
