Default Question about Banishment & Banishment of Shadows

Hello,

The wiki page for Banishment (https://wiki.project1999.com/Banishment) does not say "Works on creatures up to level 51" like the wiki page for Banishment of Shadows (https://wiki.project1999.com/Banishment_of_Shadows). Do we know if it has a level requirement?

Also, for Banishment of Shadows, what happens if a spell cast is attempted on a level 52+ mob? Is it impossible to cast, or does it resist at the end? Is the reagent consumed?

Thanks a bunch!

I'm asking because I might hit level 60 soon (yay!) and I was trying to plan the use of the spell Banihsment and was wondering how useful it was.

If there was no level limit (which I doubt), I would have it memmed at all times in The Hole and Sebilis, for emergencies. If there is one, I would still keep it memmed but I'm afraid to cast it on a rock golem (https://wiki.project1999.com/A_rock_golem) for example and lose my cast time AND reagent if the golem in question is level 52+.

Also, I was planning on obtaining some https://wiki.project1999.com/Powder_of_Unanimation to deal with undead emergencies.

If anyone knows of these spells work, thanks for your input!

if its like wizard's disintegrate if the target is out of level range, the spell goes through, the reagent consumed, mana consumed, and there is no effect, no error message.

Yeah as far as I know (only from reading, not experience) this spell does not give you xp or loot. I would assume it does have a level limit, and that the wiki is probably correct on that one. This spell would be too overpowered if it worked on any Undead Mob. This logic also falls in line with similar Dungeon and Dragons spells (Everquest was heavily influenced by Dungeons and Dragons). There were some spells that could instant kill a mob, but it had limitations. See https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells/power-word-kill , which would instant kill anything under a certain HP.

I would imagine it is only really useful for emergencies, or killing mobs that don't really give loot anyway.

It is a bad example, but you could use this to kill the Pained Soul PH, because it is just a PH and doesn't drop any good loot. Even though it is a waste of money via the Star Ruby being consumed, you are saving the time of killing the PH. In some situations saving time killing a worthless mob may be worth the cost of a Star Ruby, especially if you are rich.

This is just theory crafting though, I haven't used the spell myself.
