No atheist should be walking around with conviction that they are right. Atheism is a belief with the same exact amount of evidence as theism, so epistemologically it's just as much of a joke. Beliefs like that are okay to have but not okay to force on other people.

The real question is, will this go away if Christians became a super minority?

There's more evidence for the existence of God than there is evidence for the non-existence of God.

The problem with atheism is that it's got a peverse definition of who and what God is and so does religion so you are right that religion and atheism are one and the same because they both promote death thus distort the image of God.
