I can't believe I just hit 50 on my wizard.

I started in Project 99 in 2017 I think with a bard and shaman. I was sure I wanted a bard and recently got him to 49 so far, and he was going to be my main. I made a "port alt" and somehow overshot my main because I enjoyed it so much. Its a shame hes using not my "main" name I make characters which my shaman has :P My shaman is a barb shaman stuck at 37 because ive been debating re rolling him away from superior fashion to being troll or ogre for those benefits. hard choice so he sits. I did the older bread quest video with him ;D

Anyway, its an important level, 50 for me.. because on Live, I only played until Luclin since classic, on Rallos Zek, and the highest I ever got a character was a Necromancer to 49. Necros get so good at 49 I was just addicted to using him to kill people at that point and burned out leveling on wyverns I remember. Ive never really seen the Plane of Knowledge that everyone is so familar with other then video or pictures. In years, I never did any raids and very few groups

Thanks to a post by kb2005 on reddit with this map https://imgur.com/EfgF5kO I was able to swarm petrifiers in DL to get to 50 tonight on my wizard after such a hard time in the 40's. Except instead of quadding, I was bonding 12 of them and using thunderstrike PBAOE because I am insane.

I am happy I joined Dial a port because I never would have got Jboots otherwise, and its nice to pass two 49 characters I had, both in classic (the necro on RZ), and my bard here. I guess this might now be my main?

I don't expect to hit 60 on any character, I heard it takes like three times the time, and I certainly don't expect to ever get any epics, because I play classes with unobtainable epics for people like me.

The journey so far was fun. Kurns, Guk, some highkeep, overthere and FV cliffs, killed a few wyverns. I joined two groups basically in the time, in highkeep, and one funny story where a guild accidentally invited me to a kael platehouse group thinking I was in their guild when I was looking to tag for faction, and I also didn't realize it was a "guild only" event either and didn't notice they were all in the same guild ;P

So after my highest achievement on an everquest character being level 49 Necro for 19 years, its now.. a wizard. Whoda thunk it.

Interesting strategy with thunderclap(not thunderstrike) I’d like to see this is action due to the massive recast time how you managed to get this off without snare wearing off and these have a fair amount of hp so recasting snare a lot wouldn’t seem that efficient. Unless you just used supernova at 49. I may have to watch you do this again [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Otherwise nice to see some wizard love I’ve played every class in this game except sk and wizard has probably been my top 3 favorite leveling experience. Quadding is extremely relaxing and if I do get in a group I love using all the diff utility spells. I didn’t know the pally sword of morning proc was actually a wizard line of stuns before I decided to start playing one!

On a side note though doimg Epics are my favorite part of the game and wizard is by no means unattainable. Especially if you have the money you can buy the hard stuff. I got phinny staff on my wizard on a PUG first attempt. There are always some bards and mages that are after him. The fear part will be interesting for sure, but I definitely wouldn’t consider the epic out of the question unlike maybe bard or mage.

Bard epic is in the same catagory as mage epic? Didnt know bard was on that lvl of difficulty.

Its just the fact that theres only two white dragons in the game who are on 7 day timers and rarely drop the white scale needed, and one of the dagone dragons has a level limit too even though she dies upon spawn.

Wizard has to be one of the easiest, actually. The Gnarled Staff sells for under 50K, the Blue Crystal Staff is probably 10K, and then you just need to do some running around and kill the broken golem. I've been meaning to get one for my Nag/Vox alt.
