It's an actual psycological condition. Like if youre sitting at a table and listening to 1 of 2 other people chew, and wondering why the 3rd person isnt totally disgusted over it either, it's because you have that condition.

Quote:
The disorder is sometimes called selective sound sensitivity syndrome. Individuals with misophonia often report they are triggered by oral sounds -- the noise someone makes when they eat, breathe, or even chew. Other adverse sounds include. keyboard or finger tapping or the sound of windshield wipers.
That condition is usually what drives people to become libs IMO because we just cant stand those annoying conserves (obnoxious ugly or loud chewing old people)!

In the mind of a lib ride sharing with a friend: "how can my jackass friend STILL have the wipers on, its not raining, making all these annoying noises, this guy is crazy, this is unfair that we're car pooling and I have to be subjected to this.... that's it! I'm voting for whoever he isn't! We cant keep letting these obtuse idiots that dont care to chew like a normal human be in charge"

Now I am starting to think I might have a touch of autism because I don't really notice windshield wipers but I do pay close attention to my own breathing a lot

When I start paying attention to my heart and breathing noise I start shouting so i dont ever figure out how to accidentally never stop listening to my heart and breathing noises.

I have breathing issues with my nose due to being stabbed in the face when I was 14 and then having my face mauled by a dog when I was like 25 or so

You get used to it but I have to make sure I drink a lot of water before bed

I'd like to get surgery to correct it all but I am scared of it going totally sideways... lots of horror stories about nasal surgery gone wrong... and I don't really have the dough since I assume there will be massive out of pocket expenses

I remember hearing about a specially designed room that is so quiet, people can’t handle being in it because they can hear all their body functions
