Default The Affordable Twink

I have just recently returned to the MMORPG world after many years away. I was playing EQ back within the first month of release and was a dedicated dabbler. I did many characters but never got to end game or had too much equipment.

I mention that because the process is repeating itself. I rolled my first toon on Green and have done okay. It is a caster class though and I am finding myself wanting to do melee.

I appreciate how I should play it fresh but I feel the first part is the same for all classes. As a result i M okay with giving my alternate a little bit of a leg up though not making it as much of a walk through the park as some have it. I also don't have the coin to accomplish this. I also don't want to go the quest powerlevelling route as I want a feel for the mechanics.

I have decided to go Rogue as it is also very group dependent and I want to force myself to do thst more as I want to get to know more people in game. As a result i am looking for advice on affordable twink gear for a Rogue. I have seen all the "best in slot" material but that suggests deep pockets that I do not have.

I am going to buy a full set of banded but other than that I am not sure what to go with. I sm looking to get the most bang for my buck with a frugal budget. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Rogue (also monk) are really great bang for your bucks on budget gear. Youre gonna be happy with it.

Banded was a great start. I only suggest now the best weapons you can afford and some platinum fire wedding rings which just shot down in price. Find someone selling two for less than 500 for the pair.

Great idea on the rings. I was able to get a Serrated Bone Dirk for 70p. Any advice on good inexpensive items for the ears? Would you go hp or str or is there an affordable option with both? Also as i make some coin with the Rogue what would you suggest as swap out bargin pieces for the banded armor?

I think I have the best budget weapon as I got a Serrated Bone Dirk. For the early levels would you focus on Str over HP items? I was leaning towards the latter to limit downtime as much as possible.

Rogues always need STR for more damage, that and ATK. Resists and HP should only be a concern when you start dealing with mobs that AOE. A tank should be taking the brunt of the damage.

Serrated bone dirk is ok but in classic without a hybrid tank casting agro or a warrior with dex+proc weapons proc agroing. You may steal agro and get hurt or killed.
A cheap but less damage solution is often https://wiki.project1999.com/Dragoon_Dirk
In classic you'll want to save up for one of these https://wiki.project1999.com/Polished_Steel_Dirk
it has no proc.

Thanks for the input. I have to say that if you are going to be kissed by another man, and that is not your thing, one could do alot worse than getting kissed by Aragorn or a king.

SBD is excellent pre-27. No one would actually use it past then. By 27 a rogue should have enough for a harpoon and polished bone dirk.
