I attempted smelling them twice.. Once was for a heavy squat, and the other was for a heavy deadlift.. And without a doubt, it works.. Anyways. just thought i'd report my findings. Anyways, the ammonia thing- Not something i will do regularly, only when I want to push myself on a certain lift, which would only be for a compound movement.. So maybe 1 sniff, once a week or so.. Anyways the science behind it is that ammonia arouses your consciousness. The gas, irritates the membranes of your nose and lungs and triggers an inhalation reflex. The reflex alters your breathing pattern, resulting in increased oxygen intake, alertness, and the fact that this stuff is used in the medical field to keep folks from passing out, or to wake them up after. | |||
