That’s because it’s been shitty for a while and Herodotus didn’t like us

But yeah, the Samanid dynasty shaped much of Islamic art and architecture. Even things like architectural styles in Andalusia have their origin within the Iranian plateau, but we’ll never get credit for it (this being one small example, the Achaemenids and sassanians were way more interesting and influential)

We don’t deserve it right now anyway. Iran is a travesty.
