I dunno, maybe you should talk to Bush Jr and republicans about that since it was their policies (deregulation) which caused the crash.

In general, less govt oversight/regulation comes at an expense of other things, usually to the detriment of the average citizen (clean water, clean air, predatory lending, safe consumer goods, etc etc)
