Default Enchant Adamantite

Talking with Xzerion, I requested he summon me a few enchanted bars in a few levels. He said the spell may have been removed. I present the following:

"Can the Plate be Enchanted and Imbued Like the Chain?.... "

The reply to the post you indicate tells us that it was still not possible to enchant plate on 13 Jan, 2001. It tells us nothing of this spell, or when it was added.

The books I have on hand show it was not present during Kunark, but had been added by (or in) Luclin. Someone with better Wayback-fu will have to look into this for us, to see when in 2001 this was added!

Sorry, I meant to show that chain teir'dal armor could be enchanted, but not the plate. I suppose the plate armor (which is waaay better) was added later in the game. The chain armor is in line with classic armor stats. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Bump bump bump.

Also heard it through the grapevine that "Chainmail Patterns" where not in game. They are required to make the (quote on quote) "Old Cultural Smithing" for Dark Elves. (http://eqtraders.com/recipes/recipe_...r=080040020020)

So in summary:
  • Has the Enchant Adamantite spell been added for Enchanters?
  • Chainmail Patterns should be in game.
  • Are Essence of Shadow dropping from Shadow men? Killed about 20 and didn't see any.

Quote from EQtraders:
"The secrets kept by those mysterious dark elves include the ability to make a variety of cultural armors. These include some "original" cultural smithed weapons and armors (including lightweight chain for casters!) and cultural robes from the Legacy of Ykesha expansion. More recently, they acquired recipes for DoN smithing and tailoring alike." (http://eqtraders.com/articles/articl...r=080040020000)

Signed, your pal

Jify

P.S. - I just want to make chain armor for my magician! It's not like it's uber stats, I just want to look cooool! And while I personally did not smith in classic classic, I am under the impression that these are classic items.

Default blacksmithed armors

I believe the last chainmail patterns on our server, which were only available on one merchant, and in one size, in the entire world, were removed in the 29 November patch. Blacksmithed chainmail was introduced after Velious had launched, but before Luclin, so I would think that the patterns will remain out for now. Fine plate dyes should be introduced prior to Kunark, and original cultural recipes and supplies should go in just prior to Velious, but given the non-classic state of tradeskills on our server since launch, who knows what precisely should be done.

'old cultural' <> classic it simply means older than the new stuff.

Shadowed men certainly shouldn't be in and the essence of shadow doesn't appear to have existed prior to 2002. I have zero recollection of these in Kunark even let alone classic.
