How much MR do i need to resist Ensnaring Roots?
i´m a level 31 shaman iksar looking to take on the NK treants, but every time i do so i die because they root me and then nuke me. is there an amount of MR that can at least reduce how often i get rooted? i currently have 45 MR(65 using endure magic).[You must be logged in to view images. Here's a list of easy Classic- and Kunark-era MR gear I made for my guild. A few non-easy items made the list because there aren't many alternatives for that slot. Velious might have brought us a few more easies.
I've bolded the ones I think you'll find most worth getting. If they're not farmable at your level, try the EC tunnel. Shaman Ear: Earring of Magic Reflection 5mr, Earring of Essence 10mr (both are rare) Ear: Earring of Frost Reflection 5cr / Earring of Fire Reflection 5fr (25 plat) Neck: Wolf’s Eye Platinum Necklace 9mr, Cape of Midnight Mist 7mr, White Gold Necklace 7/7/7 Face: Split Paw Hide Mask 5mr 5pr Head: Blackened Iron Crown 5 to all, Crown of the Froglok Kings 20fr 20cr Shoulders: Withered Leather Shoulderpads 3 to all (kind of rare currently) Chest: Sarnak Emblazened Tabard 10mr, Totemic Breastplate 5mr 5pr 5dr, Sebilite Scale Coat 2mr 2cr 2dr Back: Spectral Shroud 5mr 5pr, Cloak of the Ice Bear 20cr 10hp Arms: Hollowed Bone Bracers 7mr Wrist: Wolf’s Eye Golden Bracelet 7mr x2 Hands: Finger: 5/55, platinum diamond wedding ring 7 to all, platinum jacinth wedding ring 13mr Waist: Drakescale Belt 10fr, Withered Leather belt 3 to all (kind of rare currently) Legs: Scaled Wolf Hide Leggings 5fr 5cr, Hand Woven Leggings 10fr Feet: Pri: Scepter of Flame 5mr 5fr Sec: Bone Talisman 10mr, Crested Mistmoore Shield 10mr 10pr 10dr Range: Ebon War Spear 5mr, Thex Mallet 5mr

Until you get your pet you shouldn't be rotting casters unless you're in a tight place where you can easily move out of sight between casts. After that you can use the pet to soak off their mana.
If you want some plats consider the Dalnir brutes, they drop gems and are very easy to solo. | ||

Oh, I just realized I didn't answer your question, OP. I think you could shoot for 100 buffed and have a good shot at it. They'll still root you sometimes, though. EQ doesn't have a threshold system...there's always a dice roll.

I just mentioned this in another thread but at level 34 you get a huge power increase. I would just get to 34 anyway I could and just return to that camp as just a cash camp. Between levels 23 and 33 a shaman shifts into a pure caster type of role while solo but starts to come into their own as a real deal shaman at level 34 when more tools get unlocked. The pet at 34 and the Slow at 39 that gets better every level turns you into a very tanky type.

I have leveled off casters with 200 MR and been rooted plenty of times though it definitely helps to increase it.
A better approach is to counter the root. You can leave your top slot free and cast cancel magic on yourself when you get rooted to dispel the root then move away to heal.
