Under that logic why aren't you playing everquest on live to experience vanilla-velious?
I see your point, but live is a mish-mash of mechanics that have been stapled on for the last twenty years.

That's like asking me why I won't eat a banana after it's turned brown.

I’ve never seen this dude despite leveling there a lot....

To me this is nothing new for ogres/trolls

Even pre Kunark there is so many Good NPCs who will slaughter low level evil characters in their newbie zones.. that bard right outside of Grobb is the worst

I would say Ella foodcrafter is the worst. can’t farm spears safely, and no easy way to repair faction with her.

Sand giants in Ro/Oasis, Hill Giants in Karanas, That Stupid Bard in Grobb, Holly Windstalker/Cros Treewind/Niclaus Ressinn/Tovax Vmar in Qhills, Tranixx Darkpaw in Blackburrow, Vengeful bard skellies in Everfrost, Retlong Brenclog in Crushbone, Griffons in WC/NK, Borxx in Runnyeye…

The list of "Oh shit you're randomly dead" NPC's in various low-to-mid level zones PRE-EPICS is pretty long IMO. The Dark Assassins are nothing unique in that vein.

Dark assassin is invisible and the rest u listed are super ez to avoid. Obvious. Dark assassin ruins the game causing wall hugging. Who walks up to Tovax and his skeletonbro without a good/con.

Even Rharzar isn't that bad, I spent 2 hrs killing lizards in his little area yesterday because I was curious and wanted to understand his pathing better.
