Default Macro text changing

I have a macro set up for my pet to assist my target like this:

Line 1: /assist
Line 2: /attack off
Line 3: /attack off
Line 4: /pet attack

The last two times I've logged in, I noticed that there was a space after the "attack" in the last line. I've fixed it each time, but it seems that when I log out, the space returns. Not sure WHY it would decide to add spaces to my macro lines when logging... and I guess it's relatively harmless provided I remember to correct it every time, but it certainly shouldn't be doing that.

Is your EQ folder under Program Files?

If your EQ directory is inside of Program Files or another protected directory then the client will not have permissions to save anything in the EQ directory and will be saving files somewhere in the AppData folders. If this is the case, it could be part of the problem

If your EQ directory is not in a write protected directory (C:\Everquest for example), you can try editing the ini file directly with a text editor. It will be in the main EQ directory under your characters name. So if your character is Sabin it will be:

Blue: Sabin_project1999.ini
Green: Sabin_P1999Green.ini

Macros (Socials) will be towards the bottom of the file

Run EQ as administrator and in XP SP3 compatibility mode, it solves many problems with EQ including possibly yours.
